Chinese companies and financial institutions have a long history of substantial investment in Cambodia and Myanmar and we have had the privilege of working with such entities to provide solution-oriented legal services. A list of our most active Chinese clients is set out below.

BNG established its China Desk to ensure that it tailors its services to the needs of Chinese clients. For our advisers, the China Desk acts as a central resource for training and information regarding doing business in China and enables our advisers to:

  • Understand the nuances of doing business in China and the way in which Chinese clients prefer to receive legal services;
  • Receive updates on legal and market developments in China so that they can appreciate differences between China and the jurisdictions in which our Chinese clients do business; and
  • Assist our Chinese clients establish in connecting with relevant Chinese entities that we have connections with in Cambodia and Myanmar.

The advisers that comprise our China Desk have substantial experience of working with Chinese clients and have years of combined experience working in China. In addition to providing legal services to Chinese clients, we are able to assist Chinese clients with translations and several of the advisers on the China Desk are fluent in Chinese.

Advisers on the China Desk have worked extensively with multinational Chines-based corporations including the following:

  1. Provided corporate compliance and legal advice on land development of a National Park Project for Companies from China（include Hong Kong).
  2. Provided legal opinion on loan-mortgage registration; project financing; corporate structuring among an Offshore Company, China Bank and Chinese Investment Companies registered in Cambodia.
  3. Due Diligence on Island concession and lands acquisitions for a USD 100 million project for a Chinese Capital Company.
  4. Engaged in a USD 600 million airport project to help Chinese investor processed loan facilities between Chinese Bank and investor in Cambodia.
  5. Completed due diligence on the sale and purchase of a resorts in Cambodia for International Companies based in Hong Kong.
